Our Policy Council publications are now available in their Third Edition. We have updated our material to include the provisions of the Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007.

Our publications are used by Head Start and Early Head Start programs nationwide. The Policy Council Member’s Guide is also available in Spanish.

The Policy Council Member’s Guide is essential for all Policy Council Members to understand their job as a Member and to understand the issues and decisions they will need to make.

Understanding the Role of the Head Start Policy Council is an excellent tool for Governing Boards, Policy Council and Staff to become familiar with the concept of Shared Governance. There are sections that clearly define the role of each group and their responsibilities in the process.
